A peaceful and quiet wildlife haven that is home to a large variety of animals and birds is waiting for you.
The Blue Lagoon National Park is a small wildlife haven in the northern part of Kafue Falls. It was reopened in 2003 after being under the control of the Ministry of Defence.
You will see over 400 species of birds just within the park. It is famous for their diversity of breeding raptors.
The vast floodplain fringed with acacia woodland attracts thousands of Kafue lechwe, zebra, sitatunga, some buffalo and numerous water birds. It is every birdwatchers dream.
Why the Blue Lagoon National Park is so important for Africa? How high are Zambia’s Kafue Falls? Is the Blue Lagoon National Park far from Zambia’s Capital?
Since it just reopened, it is undeveloped, and so it is one of those few places that remain untouched in Africa. You will love the dynamics of wildlife here. It is a beautiful ecosystem to watch!
