Gold Reef City is located South of Johannesburg.
The site where Gold Reef City is situated is an old Gold mine and has been modelled to resemble the gold rush and the gold rich history.
Gold Reef City is actually a combination of a Theme Park and a Life Museum of a Victorian Architecture depicting the story of Gold.

Not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries. Travelers should have a high level of physical fitness. Allocated time include traveling time. Expectant mothers are not allowed on the underground mine tour. Visitors with visual impairment not allowed underground. Visitors with physical defect, crutches/on prosthetic limb/s not allowed underground. Visitors who are asmatic or have heart problems are not allowed underground. Visitors who have recently undergone surgery not allowed underground. Visitor with uncontrolled blood pressure/ diabetics not allowed underground. Claustrophobic individuals not allowed underground
