This tour is an excellent way to get the full history of Salem without a lot of walking. The tour is lead by local colonial cemetery expert Daniel Fury, author of "If These Stones Could Speak: the History and People of the Old Salem Burying Point". The information provided is thoroughly researched, and questions are always welcome.
Wheelchair accessible. Infants and small children can ride in a pram or stroller. Service animals allowed. Public transportation options are available nearby. Suitable for all physical fitness levels. The cemetery is wheelchair accessible, however the terrain is gravel and may prove difficult for some scooters. We recommend contacting the Charter Street Cemetery Welcome Center with questions about accessibility.
The Axelrod Walkway Park is a beautiful, tree-lined park next to the Peabody Essex Museum. Across the street from the Salem Visitor Center, follow signs for the Witch Trials Memorial. Your guide will meet you on the Charter Street side of the park.
