Take a tour of Chicago’s underground Pedway system and enjoy seasonal holiday decorations and sights along the way.
Our tour begins in the lobby of the Swissotel (323 W. Wacker) where we descend into the Pedway and journey to the Cultural Center to see its famous Tiffany Dome. Another short walk in the Pedway takes us to Macy’s department store with its famous Tiffany Ceiling, the “Great Tree” in the Walnut Room and the store’s decorated holiday windows.
The Pedway then takes us to the Richard J Daley Civic Center where we ascend for a stop at the festive Christkindlmarket. We return to the Pedway for a brief walk to City Hall and Marriage Court.
Another short walk then a quick train ride takes us to the other side of the Loop where we stroll past the origin/terminus of Route 66, enjoy the Art Institute’s lion statues wearing festive holiday wreaths, then on to Millennium Park to see the city's official Christmas Tree, as well as the famous Cloud Gate sculpture, aka, The Bean.
