Why do the LA: Food + History + Design Tour?
Food: From French newcomers in the nineteenth century, to Italian immigrants of the early twentieth century, to waves of migration from China, Vietnam and Thailand in the last fifty years, each culture has left its mark on the LA culinary landscape. And we haven’t mentioned Latin America or Japan!
History: Los Angeles has a fascinating story. Many of its oldest buildings, from when the tiny pueblo was just a farming town in the Wild West, are still standing and you’ll go inside them on this tour.
Design: DTLA has many iconic buildings – City Hall, the Walt Disney Hall and the Eastern Columbia Building to name just three. You’ll also experience many beautiful interior spaces, from the Bradbury Building, to Union Station to an Art Nouveau hotel lobby.
Infants and small children can ride in a pram or stroller. Service animals allowed. Public transportation options are available nearby. Suitable for all physical fitness levels. The guide will be checking-in guests from 15 minutes before the tour begins at at the SIDE entrance to Union Station, on Alameda Street (near the taxi rank). Be sure to allow extra time for traffic and finding parking. We CANNOT wait for latecomers, there are other guests.
