What To Expect

Want to get out in Seward and see the beautiful nature it has to offer while learning about the area’s history and present from a lifelong local? Book with Seward Guided Hikes! Climb up the steep but rewarding Mount Marathon Jeep Trail to emerge into a bowl immersed in lush greenery and steep peaks. While challenging, you will earn an outstanding view of Seward and Resurrection Bay. Along the hike, learn the history of the famous Mount Marathon Race (one of the oldest races in the U.S.!), the history of the town of Seward and information on the animals and plants you may spot along the way.

After enjoying the views of the bowl, carry on up the skyline ridge trail to reach the summit of the famous Mount Marathon Race, ran every Fourth of July.
