Bwindi will give travelers (s) an exceptional and unique experience of the mountain gorillas since the park has 35 known Gorilla groups although only 17 groups have been habituated for research and open tourism.
Due to its great forest age of over 25,000 years, species diversity is a feature of the park. It provides habitat to over 120 species of mammals like chimpanzees, blue monkey, L’Hoest’s monkey, and the mountain gorilla, 357 species of birds including 23 Albertine Rift Valley endemics such as the short-tailed warbler, African green broadbill, blue-headed sunbird to mention but a few, 220 species of frogs, chameleons, geckos, and many other endangered species. Floristically, the park is among the most diverse forests in Eastern Africa, with more than 1,000 flowering plants, including 163 tree species and 104 species of ferns. Traveler(s) will also get a chance to meet the shortest Pygmies in the world and their traditional life is amazing that they can’t choose to miss it.
