What To Expect

It is an enjoyable walk for beginners and experienced hikers alike. Pikuy Mountain (1408 m asl) is the highest peak of the Lviv region, covered with scattered steep cliffs and virgin beech forests. The place was known for many centuries as an accessible and safe passage through the Carpathians; a famous medieval trade and transport route was running through the ridge. It also marks the beginning of the Great European Watershed, which divides the basins of Black and Baltic seas. Here, you can get a real mountaineering experience just a couple of hours away from Lviv.

This hike is of moderate complexity with the length of the route appr. 10 km. Sections of rocky terrain in combination with snow may increase the complexity of the path. Duration is appr. 13-14 hours. Small-group format ensures a personalized experience. Make sure your clothes and your hiking boots (trekking shoes) are comfortable for the hike. Trekking shoes are obligatory!
