The Secrets Of The Commagene Kingdom
Mount Nemrut the legend is famous for its giant mousalea and God statues which were built for Commagene King; “Antiochus I” who ruled in Adıyaman except of its height size.
The king have these statues and mousalea done to show his appreciation for the Gods and his own ancestors.
Another interesting point is here; there are two different sets of the same group of statues. One group of them welcomes the rise of the sun and the others welcomes the sunset. Isn’t it gorgeous!
