Skip the line and visit Hagia Sophia, one of the greatest architectural monuments of the world. Constructed as a basilica in the 6th century by Emperor Justinian, it was converted into a mosque by Sultan Mehmed and functions as a museum today. It does not only feature a breathtaking exterior with beautiful domes, cupolas and four soaring minarets but also a fascinating interior.The next stop of the tour, the Blue Mosque, is facing Hagia Sophia. Built in the Name of Sultan Ahmet, the Blue Mosque is famous for its interior decorations of blue Iznik tiles and its six minarets.You will also see the Hippodrome of Constantinople. It was the center of political activities and sportive events in ancient times. Learn more about its history and monuments, such as the Serpentine Column, Obelisk of Theodosius and German fountain of Wilhelm II.To round this unique experience off, visit a family-owned atelier where handmade ceramics are produced. Besides Hittite, Seljuk and Iznik productions, you will find many unique ceramic pieces inspired by the rich Turkish culture.
