Next, head to the Didyma sanctuary archaeological site, whose Temple of Apollo was one of the marvels of the ancient world. After lunch in Didyma, we'll move on to the ancient city of Miletus. It founded more colonies than any other Greek city and was a thriving commercial hub before its harbour silted over. It is home to the well-preserved 15,000-seat theatre as well as the ruins of a stadium. St Paul is said to have preached here several times in the 1st century.
