This is island hopping at its best. The Similan Islands are untouched jewels in the Andaman Sea, and they're what dreams are made of – coral reefs, hideaway beaches and tropical rainforests. You'll take a speedboat over from Phuket early in the morning to beat everyone else, and spend the day snorkelling, swimming and lazing on the beach. The excursion kicks off in style with a speedboat ride to the Similans. You'll spot their lush green interiors from a distance, but the white haze of beaches against the turquoise waters will be your base for the day. Snorkel among soft and hard corals and go in search of some 500 species that call this place home. There are nine uninhabited islands in total, though the Thai royal family has a villa on Ko Miang. Depending on tides, you'll visit three or four of the islands, and lunch will be served on the beach during one of the stops.
