Come and embrace the world! If you have limited time and want to learn more about the park from a knowledgeable guide, a full-day safari at Akagera Park is the perfect way to enjoy the area with so much to offer.
One of the major tourist locations in Rwanda is Akagera National Park, which is well-known for its variety of primates in the wild. It spans 1,200 km2 in northeastern Rwanda and borders Tanzania. It was established in 1934 to stop poaching and hunting in three ecoregions: the swamp, the mountain, and the savannah. The park is home to the big five safari animals, which are the lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos, and buffaloes. But the park is also home to other species of animals like the giraffe, 11 species of antelopes, hippos, and crocodiles. In the park, you also have a chance to do a thrilling boat cruise in Lake Ihema to see schools of hippos, giant Nile crocodiles, buffaloes, and water birds.
