What To Expect
Volcanoes National Park is situated about two hours from Kigali city, Rwanda’s capital. The drive to the park is scenic – viewing the beautiful mountains and green forests, which gave Rwanda its name as the “land of a thousand hills.”
Gorilla trekking can take minutes or hours depending on where the gorillas decide to rest from the previous day.
When you finally meet the mountain gorillas, you will have a magical chance to see them feeding and crushing through the underbrush, babies running around and full-grown gorillas inching toward observers loudly declaring their importance.

Not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries. Specialized infant seats are available. Not recommended for travelers with poor cardiovascular health. Not recommended for pregnant travelers. Public transportation options are available nearby. Infants are required to sit on an adult’s lap. Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Dress code is formal. Availability for shows cannot be checked without making a booking.
