Public transportation options are available nearby. Not recommended for pregnant travelers. Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness. Lukla airport or Tenzing–Hillary Airport is a shortest point to start trek to Everest base camp by flight. It lies at the altitude of around 2845 meter in the Himalaya. Hence, to avoid bad weather condition, entire airlines operate their flight in the morning time.. Due to unfavorable weather conditions, flight to/from Lukla gets delayed or even canceled for one, couple or more days. It might be happened at the time of your trek start or at the end of your trek. Also, you might need to aspect this kind of obstacle even in best season of Nepal.. We hope this will not happen but in case if this occurs we will try our best to schedule next flight. Furthermore, we suggest you to be prepared with this kind of circumstance. If possible, please try to keep some buffer days in your itinerary. In case if flight cancelled for longer days, you can choose alternative trip toward Annapurna, Langtang and Upper Mustang region. These areas are easily accessible by road so you will not have any problem for flight.. Alternatively, if you wish to stick with original itinerary then we can arrange Helicopter flight to/from Lukla with a supplement charge. Please note that supplement charge is additional to your flight cost. At the time of your flight to/from Lukla, if you feel that your flight is going to be canceled, you can consult with your guide to arrange Helicopter. As per the availability we will inform you about the time and supplement cost of the flight.. Please note that we are unable to refund or cover the expenses done due to flight cancellation before or after trek. Plus, you will not be entitled to any refund for the services that are not used and included in the package.
Please look for our representative holding a placard with Explore Himalaya written over it at the arrival hall of the airport.
We collect the international arrivals of the Clients and then pick them up from the airport. Then we provide them with all the details of the trek and introduce them to the Guide who then takes over.
