Get ready to discover the Codfish History Interpretation Center, one of the attractions of Lisbon's riverfront, in Terreiro do Paço which explain the reasons why the Portuguese sailed for months on end for the purposes of catching a particular type of fish – codThe Centre pays homage to this fish as a symbol of the food, culture and history of a country that has had a global outlook for centuries. You'll have the chance to enjoy two spaces, Terra Nova Mercearia, where you'll find a selection of the best codfish and genuine Portuguese identity brands, and Lugrade and Terra do Bacalhau which present a wide range of products from the traditional dry cod to the best-canned cod.
