Day 1: Cusco to Soraypampa (3,900m) - Humantay Lake
Start your journey with a scenic drive to the trailhead at Mollepata.
The first-morning walk will be about 3 hours and will take you to your first accommodation, the Sky Camp of Soraypampa.
Day 2: Soraypampa to Chaullay via Salkantay Pass (4,650m)
The most challenging day as you ascend to the highest point of the trek, Salkantay Pass.
Descent to Chaullay: Descend through diverse microclimates to lush cloud forests.
Day 3: Chaullay to La Playa
Hike through tropical coffee plantations, a lush landscape of rivers
La Playa: Arrive at La Playa, a small settlement where you can relax.
Day 4: La Playa to Aguas Calientes via Llactapata
Discover the less-visited Llactapata ruins, providing a unique view of Machu Picchu.
Hydroelectric Station: Continue with a scenic train ride to Aguas Calientes.
Day 5: Machu Picchu Exploration
Early morning bus ride to Machu Picchu to witness the sunrise.
Guided Tour: Comprehensive tour of Machu Picchu
