What To Expect
Waqrapukara remains an enigmatic site built in seclusion far away from most other sites in Cusco. This place was considered more sacred than Machu Picchu. The clue is a vaulted niche three jambs that faces the sun rise, you'll see it when you arrive there. It's design and difficulty to reach suggests it was meant to be a secret. Not much is known about its purpose. The surrounding valley is breathtaking and you'll get to see a side of Cusco not many others see.
Waqrapukara is considered off the beaten path. We also have 2 day hike which involves exploring tombs on the mountain ridge. Inside the tombs are the untouched remains of the Qanchi who were around during the Inca.

Service animals allowed. Infants are required to sit on an adult’s lap. Not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries. Not recommended for pregnant travelers. Not recommended for travelers with poor cardiovascular health. Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness. Hat for the sun, sunblock and sunglasses. Operates in all weather conditions, please dress appropriately. Recommendations for what to bring:. Raincoat or poncho. Hiking boots (Due to the height of the trek there may be some sections where snow has fallen). Vegetarian option is available, please advise at time of booking if required.
