The Everest Base Camp trek has been a popular trip for all adventure seekers since the very first expeditions to the Nepalese side of Everest in 1953. The trek commences with a 35-minute flight from Kathmandu to Lukla which is adorned with a tiny airstrip from where the trek really begins. The trek passes through the homelands of the Sherpa people and will enjoy Buddhist monasteries and close-up views of Mt. Everest and neighboring peaks, considered by many to be among the most beautiful mountains in Nepal.
