Located on the picturesque Kopan Hills on the fringes of Kathmandu, this Monastery is a stunning Tibetan Buddhist Monastery established by the founders of the Foundation of the Preservation of the Mahayana Buddhism. It is a well-known tourist attraction and draws people who are interested in learning Tibetan Mahayana Buddhism.
Visitors may choose to explore the picturesque and tranquil monastery for a few hours. However, a general code of conduct needs to be maintained to avoid disturbing the students and the monks. Everyone is welcome to witness the peace even if it is just for an hour.
Another sightseeing spot Boudhantath Stupa is situated 8 km to the east of downtown Kathmandu. It is one of the UNESCO World Heritage sites and one of the most imposing landmarks in Kathmandu.
The 36-meter-high stupa of Boudha is massive and dominates the skyline in the area. With countless monasteries around it, Boudha is the center of Tibetan Buddhism in Nepal.
