Start your hiking following downhill route through forest and farmland. Explore typical villages located en-route to see countryside lifestyle and faces. The villages located en-route are dotted with indigenous community settlements such as Tamang, Newar, Chhetris and Brahmins. This is an excellent opportunity to witness ancient farming techniques and see crops being harvested in a traditional style.
Reach to Chagunarayan temple, oldest Hindu temple in Nepal is decorated with carved doors and torans. Due to excellent wood carving masterpieces inside the temple, it’s listed as a heritage site by UNESCO. Visit the temple and local town, Newari, following stone paved narrow lanes.
Then continue to walk to Bhaktapur which is one of the best preserved royal cities. Visit Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Golden Gate, Royal Bath and other temples located in the Durbar Square area. Follow narrow lanes to reach Nayatapla Square & walk further down to Pottery Square to see some mud work.
