Phulchowki is one of the highest hill in Kathmandu valley. The highest elevation is 2,791m which gives a wide range of Himalayas views and complete 360 view of Kathmandu valley. The word 'Phulchowki ' simply means ‘Hill of Flowers’ that are surrounded by dense forest of various species of plants and rhododendron. It is also important place as pilgrimage sites, atop you can worship the Phulchowki Mai temple which is surrounded by the prayer flags.
To reach Phulchowki, we have to drive Godawori and start hiking. Godawori is very popular garden in Nepal. If you have time, its worth to visit Botanical Garden at Godawori for the nature as well as picnic spot in the Kathmandu valley.
Besides, during the hiking, we will get chance to see many species of birds such as: long-tailed Drongos, Greater Yellow nape, Grey-headed Woodpecker, Nepal Cutia, Ultramarine Flycatcher, and Black-winged Cuckoo shrike.etc.
