Nagarkot Changunaryan day hiking begins from Nagarkot, from Kathmandu to Nagarkot it is still more than one hour’s drive away. Nagarkot is a small village 7200 feet above sea level, near Kathmandu, the most famous hill destination. From Nagarkot, our hike onwards through the terraced lands, thick traditional village of Tamang, with traditional country houses painted with bricks found locally. As we go ahead, we observe the aboriginal people’s culture & lifestyle on the route. We travel through the dense forest after that, a close watch on the flora & fauna. Then at last we reach Changunaryan, the end goal of this hike, one of Nepal’s UNESCO world heritage sites. Changunarayan is a pleasant oldest Temple which dates back to the 7th century and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. It provides stunning views of the Mountains including Mt.Ganesh Himal, Mt.Langtang, Gauri Shankar, and Mt. Everest. We discover this ancient temple for about an hour, and finally drive back to Kathmandu.
