Mount Manaslu (8,163m) is the 8th highest mountain in the world. Located in the Gorkha district in the northwestern part of Nepal, Manaslu is one of the most prized trophies for mountaineers the world over. The mountain is regarded as the epitome of purity and enlightenment. The contemporary name ‘Manaslu’ which means “Mountain of the Spirit” came from the Sanskrit word Manasa, meaning "intellect" or "soul". The peak was first climbed on 9 May 1953 by a Japanese expedition team. Mt. Manaslu Expedition gives trekkers an exciting opportunity to climb the 8th highest mountain in the world.
