From Hemjakot, hike to Dhampus, a prominent Gurung settlement known for its breathtaking views. Discover the Himalayas without having to endure a strenuous trek. The short journey from Hemjakot to Dhampus, which drops from Hemjakot's 1500 meters to Dhampus' 1170 meters, takes about an hour.
You'll pass through a small community forest and take in the spectacular mountain vistas and rural lifestyle of the area along the way. The best time to go on this hike is right after lunch at your homestay in Hemjakot, or you can pack a lunch to eat along the way.
A viewpoint in the small Gurung settlement of Dhampus offers stunning views of the Annapurna Himalaya that are distinct from those found in Hemjakot. If you have the time and energy for them, this easy climb is a perfect warm-up for longer hikes in the area. For those with less time, it also works well as a stand-alone excursion.

Head west on Prithvi Highway driving alongside Phewa Lake for some distance from Pokhara. Continue on Prithvi Highway, passing through the town of Hemja. After passing through Hemja, look for signs indicating the way to Hemja Fedi. You will find our local guide there to meet you at Hemja Fedi.
