What To Expect
Explore the world of the famous Viking warriors in Norway's first digital Viking museum. Using virtual reality you will travel back thousands of years to the Viking Age and experience different parts of their daily life.Become part of history and board a Viking ship to sail the seas with the Viking warriors through interactive technology combining 4D and virtual reality. There are many topics to explore on the Viking Planet: from ships and navigation, or weapons and war, to women in the Viking Age, religion and mythology. Meet Viking holograms and immerse yourself in the 270-degree cinema.
What to remember
Important info
- Before you enter, it's recommended that you download the Viking Planet Guide App. It is free and available on the App Store and Google Play. The app is available in 12 languages and provides additional information about the various attractions at the museum
- The documentary at Norvegr and the 270-degree cinematic experience at The Helmet start every 15 minutes from 10.00am until closing time and last about 12 minutes. It's recommended that you start your experience with the introductory film about the Viking Age on Norvegr
- There is a wheelchair-accessible elevator and toilet and free access for certified carers
- Check the opening hours on the local provider's website to plan your visit
- The VR experience is not recommended for children under 6 years old
