Discover the secrets and mysteries of the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
We will meet at the monument to John Paul II, a few meters from the entrance. From there we will analyze the iconography and meanings of the painting of the Virgin: the moon, the mantle of stars, the ribbon, even the syncretism of the symbol of the fourth indigenous movement.
We will then enter the Basilica, touring the chapels and the altar on the first level. There we will analyze the architecture of the premises, such as the similarities and differences between the Virgin Guadalupe of Mexico and Spain.
We will continue our tour at the Expiatory Temple of Christ the King, the Capuchin Parish, the Carillon and the museum of the basilica. This is a beautiful place that has some of the most important baroque works in the country, bringing together artists such as Baltasar de Echave Orio (and sons), Juárez and Villalpando.
Finally we will visit the Cerrito chapel, the Pocito temple and the old parish of Indios.
