This tour focuses on art in one of the most popular museums in Mexico City - Soumaya Museum. A home to a private art collection of nearly 70,000 works from 15th to mid-20th century it includes the world’s largest private collection of Auguste Rodin sculptures. Designed by FR-EE, the museum reflects the eclectic taste of the collector, as well as his desire to create a new cultural institution for the public and the city.
During the tour we will explore its architecture and admire the museum’s continuous six-level promenade of exhibition, presentation and gathering space.
We will enjoy the art works and hear the explanation of the most important painting by our expert in art.
Public transportation options are available nearby. Suitable for all physical fitness levels. It is important to know that Soumaya museum may be subjected to occasional closures without previous warning from the museum management (as usual it happens during high season). When this occurs, we will provide guests with an appropriate alternative if the museum opening time is delayed more than 1h from the tour starting time. In these cases we are unable to provide refunds or discounts. No large bags or suitcases are allowed inside the museum, only handbags or small thin backpacks are allowed through security. Some collections may vary along the year.
We will meet at the entrance of Soumaya Museum (Plaza Carso). Your art guide will hold a sign with your name.
