Sri Lanka ancient kingdoms and Buddhist temples 4-day tour from Kandy

You will be picked up at 7.00am to go to Aluviharaya Rock Temple. Continuing on with your learning journey, you will climb the Dambulla Cave Temple which takes about 30 minutes. It is the largest and best preserve cave temple complex in Sri Lanka with five caves that contain statues and paintings. After lunch, you will check in to the hotel, and at 3.00 p.m you will start climbing up and down the Sigiriya Rock that will take about 3 hours. Then to end your first day, you will stay overnight in Sigiriya.On day two, you will go to Polonnaruwa at 9.00 a.m Polonnaruwa, where there was the second ancient Kingdom of Sri Lanka. After a four-hour tour there, you will continue with lunch and continue to Anuradhapura and stay overnight. The next day, you will visit the ancient monastery and kingdom Anuradhapura, an important early kingdom in the principal city of Sri Lanka. After touring for 5 hours, go to Kurunegala and stay there overnight.On the final day, you will leave the hotel at 7.00am to go to Atugala Temple, also known as Elephant Rock, a prominent venue in the royal capital of Sri Lanka that is 325 meters from the ground in a gigantic shape of an elephant with a Buddha statue on the top of the rock. Afterward, you will proceed to Arankele, an archeological site with biological hotspots, medicinal plants, and ponds. This site dates back 800 years ago when Arahant Maliyadeva the last Arahant of Sri Lanka, spent his time meditating at Arankelle, making it an important place for ruins of an ancient forest monastery. After lunch, you will proceed to Yapahuwa, the capital of Sri Lanka in the 13th century that is built on 90 meters high rock boulder. End the tour at the Yapahuwa Rock Fortress a palace and military center to protect against foreign invaders. Finally, return to Kandy around 6.00pm.
