Immerse yourself in the Japanese tea ceremony, a tradition rooted in Zen Buddhism and celebrated in Kyoto. In the art of preparing matcha (powdered green tea), every mindful gesture carries deep significance.Your host, Rie, a Kyoto native, is a second-degree instructor of the Urasenke School of tea ceremony. In 2015, she founded her own tea ceremony business to share the beauty of this traditional culture. During this experience, you'll savour organic matcha tea from Uji, brewed by Rie, followed by a hands-on tea-making lesson. Complement your tea with a traditional Japanese sweet.The experience includes the tea ceremony, tasting, brewing, and an optional kimono-wearing package.
