If you want an EXCLUSIVELY LOCAL bar hopping in Tokyo, then Koenji is the best place for you! This place is considered to be one of the best nomiya-gai (drinking districts) in Japan! However, this place is not promoted to overseas tourists, thus the menu and staff are rarely offered in English.
The first bar will introduce you to sake, and you will experience tasting as well. The guides will open you up to a local tour that no other tour provides.
※ Koenji is 4 stops from Shinjuku Sta. on the Sobu Line (track 16 / Yellow line / JR) it only takes about 10 minutes from Japan's mega-downtown area and accessibility is high!
