In this workshop, you will make 4 paper products, so a lot of stuff to do! At the end, you will have your design of two postcards, Rakusui paper, and A5 paper. You will experience the entire process of Japanese papermaking, including Hyouhitor (peeling off the outer bark) and Dakai (beating tree fibers). Then, pour the raw material into a paper-making mold and deckle before sifting the solution to form an even and flat sheet of paper.
While your paper is drying, we offer our original "Japanese paper tea" along with local Japanese sweets. We make tea from Kozo leaves, which are the raw material for making paper, and the sweets are sourced from a beloved local shop.
