Kendo, or the way of the sword, has a history of more than 1000 years. It began with the introduction of iron and iron forging technology into Japan from China and Korea. The early 15th and 16th Centuries saw proliferation of traditional Japanese swordsmanship schools created by great swordsmen with legendary skills. During this experience, you will understand the way of the Samurai through the lens of the Japanese traditional martial arts called Kendo.
Not recommended for travelers with poor cardiovascular health. Not recommended for pregnant travelers. Infants and small children can ride in a pram or stroller. Public transportation options are available nearby. Infants are required to sit on an adult’s lap. Specialized infant seats are available. Travelers should have a high level of physical fitness. Please follow the guide’s instruction during the program. No responsibility will be taken for any accidents caused by disregard for the instructions. Please bring or wear loose fitted exercise clothing. Shower rooms are provided, please bring your own towel and change of clothing. Minimum age is 9 years. The listed price does not include transportation expenses between each activities. For participants using glasses, please be informed due to difficulty of wearing head protector and possibility of damages to glasses, it is not advisable to wear glasses during kendo activity.
