Herculaneum offers a more intimate glimpse into Roman life than neighbouring Pompeii thanks to its greater displays of wealth and higher level of preservation. Much of the town is yet to be excavated, and objects such as doors, papyrus and even food were preserved under the volcanic ash.

From 15 October 2024 - 15 March 2025, the ruins are open every day from 8:30am to 5pm. Last entry is 90 minutes before closing. Official entry tickets will be sent via email shortly after booking confirmation. Entry into the Herculaneum Archaeological Park is only permitted by displaying your digital tickets on your mobile device. Please note that no physical tickets are issued
