Accessibility:

  • The Colosseum is not wheelchair accessible and may pose challenges for individuals with mobility issues. Moderate physical fitness is recommended for entering the Colosseum

Not allowed:

  • Bulky bags, trolleys, and glass bottles are not allowed in the Colosseum and no cloakroom facilities are available

Know in advance:

  • Your ticket is valid until the site closes on your booked day. Colosseum entry at the selected time is mandatory
  • Please note that you´ll be escorted to the entrance of Colosseum but there is no guided tour included. Kindly note that entrance to the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill will be autonomous, as there won’t be any tour escort in that case
  • Heightened security may cause delays at the entrance to the Colosseum
  • You can use your ticket for the Open Bus during the following operational times
  • From March 15th to October: Bus operates 8:30 AM to 6:40 PM. Last bus 6:40 PM from Termini Station (Stop 1)
  • From 4th November to March 14th: Bus operates 8:30 AM to 5:40 PM. Last bus 5:40 PM from Termini Station (Stop 1)
  • First bus starts from Viale Enrico de Nicola, facing Piazza dei Cinquecento - public line 910 yellow bus stop (Stop 1)
  • Open Bus highlights and stops (also see the overview in the image gallery): Stop 1: Stazione Termini (bus terminus), Stop 2: Santa Maria Maggiore, Stop 3: Area Archeologica del Colosseo, Stop 4: Circo Massimo - Bocca della Verità, Stop 5: Piazza Venezia, Stop 6: Vatican City, Sistine Chapel and Castel Sant’Angelo, Stop 7: Piazza di Spagna, Stop 8: Piazza Barberini e Fontana di Trevi
  • Temporary Update (valid from 16th October 2024 until further notice): due to land improvement work, STOP 6 will be at Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, 323 (nearby Largo Tassoni)
  • The audioguide during the bus ride is available in the following languages: Arabic, Chinese, Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish
  • Please note that the audioguide is only included during the bus ride and not during your visit of the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill
