Immerse yourself in the rich history of the Ancient Appian Way, a 4th century BC Roman road stretching over 500km from Rome to Brindisi in southern Italy. This was not just a military route, but a path steeped in secrets, adorned with beautiful villas and historical sites.As you traverse this ancient road, you'll encounter landmarks such as the Circus of Maxentius and the Mausoleum of Cecilia Metella among others. The tour also includes a visit to St. Callixtus’s Catacombs, part of the expansive Callistian complex. This 30-hectare area, nestled between the Via Appia Antica, the Via Ardeatina and the Via delle Sette Chiese in Rome, is home to various funerary areas and catacombs.The journey is punctuated with a well-deserved break in the Aqueducts Park where you can savour Roman specialties found in your lunch box. The lunch box will be replaced by a delicious aperitif as an alternative for the afternoon tour.
