FOROF is a fascinating blend of archaeology and contemporary art, a mutual process of regeneration that draws inspiration from the cultural cafes of the 20th century avant-garde. The FOROF exhibition offers an immersive and multisensory experience, enriched by the uniqueness of its location and historical significance.Established by Giovanna Caruso Fendi, FOROF stands as Rome's first permanent initiative that marries contemporary art with archaeology in a shared regeneration process. Nestled in the heart of Rome at Palazzo Roccagiovine, it overlooks Trajan’s column at the Imperial Fora. In collaboration with the Archaeological Superintendence of Rome, it houses within its spaces the coloured marble flooring of Basilica Ulpia and remnants of the eastern apses dating back to the second century AD.The Viennese collective, Nimbus Limbus Omnibus, led by Bartolomeo Pietromarchi, has created an unprecedented site-specific exhibition project in dialogue with the archaeological site of Basilica Ulpia - their first venture in Rome.FOROF also offers you a journey through time via an olfactory experience. Crafted by Laura Bosetti Tonatto, a globally renowned professional "nose", FOROF ESSENZA aims to encapsulate the spirit of a place, evolving into a cultural and social narrative of universal appeal.
