St. Peter's is closed on Wednesdays from 8:00 AM-01:00 PM and on December 24 and 31. During these times, the tour will visit other parts of the museums. The Vatican can be very crowded all year round All visitors must pass through an airport-style security check. During high season, the wait at security may be up to 30 minutes. St. Peter’s Basilica and the Sistine Chapel can close without notice on rare occasions. If this happens, your guide will take you to tour the Vatican Museums and/or the Sistine Chapel/St Peter's Basilica instead. Travelers with disability are eligible for free tickets
