Not all Colosseum secrets are accessible with this tour. Visiting the Colosseum ARENA Gladiator Gate Arena requires a licensed guide and a special reservation.
But you are in luck! Our tour of the ARENA of the Colosseum offers a full experience. It kicks off in the dungeons of this mighty amphitheater with an exploration of the mysterious. This is where the gladiators prepared for the impossible fights ahead; where caged lions and tigers waited before entering the arena through trap doors.
The animals weren’t the only ones who fought for their lives. There were also rooms for gladiators. The Ludus Magnus, a door closed now was connected to the gladiator barracks. Then they would enter from ‘Porta Triumphalis’ gate to the arena with wooden elevators. They also got medical treatment after the fights since they didn’t want them all to die each time.
