The Church of St. Francis hosts the testimony of the oldest Eucharistic miracle of the Catholic world. The two relics, 5 drops of coagulated blood and thin membranes of flesh are preserved in a silver monstrance and a crystal ampule Histological examinations, have shown that it is human blood and heart tissue with the same blood group (AB) The sanctuary is visited every year by thousands of pilgrims from all over the world. The Shrine of Manoppello is recognized as the true Face of Jesus Christ. From 1646 the Holy Face is exposed to the veneration of people.It is a soft veil, the warp and weft are intertwined in the form of a normal weaving and the face of the Shroud of Turin and that of Manoppello both fabrics had been laid on the body of Jesus.
