The visit lasting about 2 hours starts with a meeting with the speleologists at the famous Fontana del Calamo; a redeveloped and readapted environment for public use, the speleologists will tell you the story of these hydraulic works and will tell you curiosities about the rediscovery of the Ancona Underground galleries. Most of the information for the visit will be provided in this place as the following rooms suffer from difficult acoustics and are not suitable for conversation.
At the end of this first part we move towards Piazza Stamira: upon arrival, the speleologists will make you put on boots and a helmet equipped with a light before descending underground in the square where a cistern of about 4000 square meters is hidden. By means of a manhole, the speleologists will help you to descend below the street level and after a few steps you will find yourself in an underground world made of darkness and water.
