Duomo Complex - Baptistery & Museum (NO BELL TOWER)

The Duomo Square offers a breathtaking view, especially at sunset, when the sun's rays "light up" the polychrome marble of the buildings that form the religious complex of the city. The chromatic homogeneity (green, white, and red) beautifully harmonizes a stylistic variety.

The stylistic differences can be explained by the fact that the construction works went on for about four centuries. The Baptistery began to be built in the middle of the 11th century, while the Dome was completed by Filippo Brunelleschi in the middle of the 15th century. The Dome, with its imposing size, dominates the whole square.

Following chronological order, the visit to the religious centre of Florence starts with the Baptistery.
