Interact with the animals and discover all the secrets and curiosities of a place where life is constantly renewed.Since spring 2017, the Genoa aquarium has also renovated two areas dedicated to reptiles and amphibians and to projects for the conservation and recovery of animals in difficulty or seized by the competent authorities and entrusted to the Aquarium. The novelties add to an already rich and exciting journey, to discover the seas of the world.Visit the monumental complex of the Lanterna, the symbol of the city. Walk along the promenade overlooking the port to the evocative museum in the ancient fortifications and to the imposing lighthouse, from which it is possible to admire Genoa from the top of the first panoramic terrace.

What to remember

Important info

Access to Lanterna is allowed to a limited number of people at the same time. The ascent to the Lanterna is 172 steps (up to the first panoramic terrace). To face it, you need to be in good physical condition
The visit is not recommended for people with heart or walking problems and pregnant women
The visit to the Lantern must be carried out with suitable footwear. In case of bad weather orange weather alert and/or thunderstorms, visits to the lighthouse will be suspended
Access not allowed for animals
Minors must be accompanied
A pair of peregrine falcons nests at the Lanterna: the possible presence of bird carcasses in the surrounding areas is due to their presence. Do not lean over, do not climb over and do not throw objects from the parapets
Upon entry, the contents of any bags, backpacks, suitcases, jackets and fanny packs of any size will be checked by the guards (with a special identification tag). If there is no availability of users to submit to the check, access will not be allowed (even to external areas). No toy weapons of any kind, air guns, flare guns, pellet guns, slingshots, anything else that could be considered a weapon, unauthorized drones, tripods, or anything of a bulky nature are allowed. Specifically: firearms of all kinds, such as pistols, revolvers, carbines, shotguns, knives of any size, climbing ropes and other objects not deemed unsuitable for visits, the safety of the monument and of the personnel. Backpacks of any size, photographic tripods and/or bulky objects must be left in the cloakroom after the check
In the outdoor areas it is forbidden to play ball, ride a bike, use skateboards, skates, scooters, overboard and drones, and it is forbidden to consume food (no picnic area)
