Be ready for a special kind of Golden Circle tour. In a small group of up to 6 people, we will explore some of the most beautiful places in Iceland and learn about unique geological formations and the history of the landscape around us.
We start the tour in Reykjavik at bus stop 8 (Hallgrimskirkja), from where we make our way directly to one of the geological highlights of Iceland.
Stop the tour:
Thingvallir National Park
The Thingvellir National park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the oldest national park in Europe. There I will give you a detailed introduction to the geology as well as a little insight into the cultural significance of this place. Walk on the edge of the continental plates and learn about the amazing geology of this place. We will take a walk in the National Park and see also Öxarárfoss, a small waterfall that you maybe know from 'Game of Thrones'
Hot Spring Vally Haukadalur (Geysir / Strokkur)
Feel the heat and smell the sulfur of geothermal hot springs and get splashed by Iceland's famous Geysir Strokkur. A short lunch break is planned in the Geysir Restaurant, where we can strengthen ourselves for the rest of the day. (Price for lunch is not included).
Gullfoss
Iceland's most powerful waterfall with an interesting background story is waiting for you. In Winter Gullfoss is one of the most beautiful Waterfalls ins Iceland, in Summer you can get even closer and feel the power of the water.
Kerið volcanic crater
Besides the beautiful colours of this place, we will also discover unique geology features of this place. A volcanic crater that erupted about 6500 years ago is a great place to enjoy the last stop of our tour.
In the early evening, it goes back to Reykjavik on parts of the famous ring road, where I dropped you off again at Hallgrimskirjka.
Please note:
The tour can be canceled at short notice due to bad weather conditions.
