The ancient and enormous icebergs breaking off from Vatnajökull glacier into Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon is a unique natural wonder and unforgettable experience to witness. The 1000-1500-year-old ice silently drifts into the lake and slowly melts away and is a spectacular sight. The lagoon covers 18 square kilometers (7 square miles) and reaches more than 248 meters (814 ft) at its deepest point. Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon has also been the location for scenes in Batman Begins, Tomb Raider and two James Bond movies.
