On this half-day trip from Agra, visit Fatehpur Sikri, the abandoned city of the Mughals. Built by Emperor Akbar in 1571, it served as his capital for a very short period of 10 years. After the death of Akbar, this magnificent fortified city was abandoned and the capital of the Mughals was shifted to Agra. A UNESCO World Heritage site, it has several well preserved palaces and a large mosque.
