Kheer Ganga (2950 meters) lies at the extreme end of Parvati valley and is the last inhabited village while trekking to pin valley via Pin-Parvati pass. Kheerganga's panoramic skies and vast greenery are a much-needed delight to the trekker's eyes and especially the tired legs. It is a holy place with a hot water spring, a small temple of Lord Shiva, and a bathing tank. Camping at Kheerganga can be a wonderful and serene experience with spectacular views.
History of Kheerganga:
Lord Shiva (some say it was his son Kartik) came to Kheerganga and is said to have meditated for thousands of years. 'Kheerganga or Kheer Ganga as the name suggests is Ganga River ( the Ganges River) as White as a Kheer (an Indian sweet dish made from milk and Rice).
Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
