On this self-guided circular tour through Jaffa, you'll you’ll hear the stories behind its beautifully restored and preserved buildings. Old Jaffa’s long and twisted tale is filled with familiar characters: Alexander the Great, the Crusaders, and even Napoleon. The city’s collection of artists’ quarters and urban parks overlooking the Mediterranean Sea make it a unique area to explore and enjoy.
You’ll follow in the footsteps of a few historic characters who spent time here. Tomer, your tour guide, will tell you about the city’s long history and how archaeological findings from the times of the pharaohs were discovered in these gardens. He’ll also peel back the area’s layers of history and share how his family, the Chelouche family, helped modernise Jaffa. You’ll also be able to make a wish on top of the Wishing Bridge before heading to the highest point in Old Jaffa.
By the end of this almost circular route, you’ll have a deeper appreciation for this port city’s history.
