Your knowledgeable local guide will help you explore the wonderful and unique landscape of the Burren. You will get to understand the geology of the limestone karst and how man and farming, as well as nature, have shaped it. You will get to interpret the landscape and see some of the archaeology of over 5,000 years of human habitation. The Burren is famous for its wild flowers. Arctic, alpine and sub-tropical plants grow side by side! Your guide will identify the special flowers of the Burren, according to what is in season. The walk will be at a relaxed pace and will be 5.5 km (3 miles) long and is suitable for persons with a reasonable level of fitness.
Service animals allowed. Not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries. Not recommended for pregnant travelers. Not recommended for travelers with poor cardiovascular health. Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness. Children must be accompanied by an adult. All participants must have a reasonable level of fitness and must be healthy. Due to uneven surfaces, this tour is not suitable for those with walking disabilities or using a wheelchair. Good walking shoes/boots required
We meet outside the front door of the Londis Supermarket on Main Street. There is an approx. 8 km drive to the start point of the walk. We cannot provide transport - you must have your own. We can book a taxi for you, if given plenty of notice. Your guide will be wearing a baseball hat with Kinvara Walks on it.
