Discover Trogir‘s Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site just off the Dalmatian coast where, over the centuries, an array of conquerors left their mark. On this walking tour, we’ll follow these historical footprints along the little island’s glistening shoreline, and delve deep into Trogir‘s story.
Starting in front of Trogir‘s Northern Gate, you‘ll step through this historical portal and learn about the island‘s Greek and Roman periods. You'll zip through a labyrinth of narrow streets toward the picturesque main square that surrounds Saint Lawrence‘s Cathedral. After a stroll along Trogir Promenade, you’ll follow this tiny island‘s shoreline back to the Northern Gate where our tour ends. Along the way, I‘ll tell you what the area was like under Greek, Roman, Venetian, French, Austro-Hungarian, and Yugoslavian rule. You‘ll also take in Pasike, a serene neighbourhood where you‘ll see Saint Mark‘s Tower, an impressive example of Venetian architecture.
